Some of the most exciting meals happen when culinary worlds collide. The Global Table is a celebration of the bold, diverse, and deeply personal culinary traditions that define American food today — brought to life through an extraordinary partnership of five chefs from across the country, each bringing a distinct voice, heritage, and point of view to a single, unforgettable table.
The evening has its roots in a shared moment of recognition: Kate Williams, Kevin Tien, and Ji Hye Kim were each named among Food & Wine's Best New Chefs — an honor that connected three of the country's most exciting culinary voices and planted the seeds of a lasting friendship and creative partnership. Williams brings the warmth and seasonal-voluptuous cooking that made Lady of the House a Detroit icon; Tien, the visionary chef behind Washington D.C.'s Moon Rabbit — recently named to North America's 50 Best Restaurants — brings his celebrated modern Vietnamese fine dining north; and Kim, a four-time James Beard semifinalist, channels ancient Korean culinary traditions through the seasonal lens of her acclaimed Ann Arbor restaurant Miss Kim. Joining their circle of friends for the evening is Joe VanWagner, the executive chef behind Ann Arbor's Echelon Kitchen & Bar — a love letter to Michigan's agricultural community and a 2026 James Beard Foundation Best New Restaurant semifinalist — who brings his wood-fired, vegetable-forward sensibility and deep reverence for Michigan's farms and producers to the table. The evening is hosted by Artisan Executive Chef Sarah Bobier, a Traverse City native whose ingredient-driven cooking and deep ties to northern Michigan's farms and producers make her the perfect guide for a night of global flavors rooted in local hospitality.
Five chefs. Five culinary traditions. One remarkable table.
