A Palestinian-Egyptian American chef, two-time James Beard Award finalist for Best Chef: Great Lakes, and the visionary behind Detroit’s acclaimed Saffron De Twah, Anani has built a reputation for cooking that explores heritage, migration, and identity. His work reflects a belief shared by The Good Bowl: that food is a powerful way to preserve culture, foster conversation, and bring communities together.
Guests may remember Anani from The Good Bowl’s Silk Road Dim Sum collaboration, where his cooking and storytelling helped create one of the restaurant’s most memorable dining experiences. This return marks his first solo takeover of the downtown Traverse City restaurant.
